Art reproduction postcards
Written by admin on 15 November, 2009 – 9:27 pm -Nowadays it would be quite easy to sniffily dismiss a collection of reproductions of famous works of art. When they were first issued these postcards would have cost much more to buy than others. Postcards produced by the Louvre for example were priced a 3d and 4d each - not an inconsiderable sum. Of course nowadays, this type of postcard is at the cheaper end of the price spectrum and thus represents a great place for the newcomer to deltiology to begin building their collection. Perhaps the most desirable examples were published by Tucks, although Misch & Co., C. W. Faulkner and the Medici Society were all purveyors of fine art reproduction postcards.
